Plain-language summary
Quiyo uses account, quiz, device, billing, and support information to provide and secure the software. Public quizzes are visible because a user chooses to share them. We do not sell personal information to advertisers, and public quiz sharing does not create a marketplace.
1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to Quiyo websites, web applications, mobile applications, desktop experiences, support channels, and related services operated by Xyberverse Nexus (“Quiyo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It explains our practices where we act as the organisation responsible for determining how personal information is processed. Payment providers and app stores may separately control information they collect for transactions.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, username, email address, profile image, sign-in provider, account identifiers, preferences, and authentication records.
- Quiz and content information: prompts, questions, answers, explanations, uploaded files, quiz settings, comments, reactions, public profile details, and other content you create or submit.
- Participation information: quiz keys, attempts, answers, scores, rankings, timing, completion status, identity fields selected by the quiz author, and related analytics.
- Purchase information: plan, credits, transaction identifiers, status, price, currency, tax information, renewal or cancellation status, and limited billing details received from the payment provider. Quiyo does not normally receive full payment-card numbers.
- Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, timestamps, crash data, logs, identifiers, security signals, and feature usage.
- Communications: support messages, privacy requests, feedback, surveys, and correspondence.
3. How information is collected
We collect information directly from you; automatically when you use Quiyo; from sign-in, payment, app-store, hosting, analytics, or security providers; from quiz authors when they configure participant fields; and from public interactions within Quiyo. We do not require you to make a quiz public.
4. How we use information
- Provide accounts, quiz creation, AI generation, publishing, participation, scoring, analytics, exports, collaboration, and support.
- Process and reconcile purchases, plans, subscriptions, credits, cancellations, refunds, taxes, and fraud checks.
- Personalise settings, remember preferences, improve performance, diagnose errors, and develop features.
- Protect users and Quiyo through authentication, abuse prevention, moderation, auditing, and security monitoring.
- Send service messages, receipts, billing notices, product updates, and optional communications where permitted.
- Comply with law, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, and protect legal rights.
5. Legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you; comply with legal obligations; pursue legitimate interests such as security, support, fraud prevention, and product improvement; protect vital interests; or rely on consent. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, although this does not affect earlier lawful processing.
6. AI processing and uploaded content
When you use AI-assisted features, relevant prompts, files, quiz settings, and contextual instructions may be sent to contracted AI or cloud-processing providers so they can return the requested output. We may also process output and usage signals to detect errors, prevent abuse, and improve Quiyo.
Do not submit information that you are not authorised to process. Avoid uploading confidential records, protected health information, identity documents, payment-card data, passwords, private examination materials, or other highly sensitive content. Review AI output before publishing or relying on it.
7. Public quizzes and visible information
If you choose public visibility, the quiz title, description, questions or preview details, author name or profile, activity counts, comments, reactions, and related information may be visible to other users or visitors according to product settings. Public content may be indexed, shared, copied, or viewed outside your intended audience.
Public quizzes are free user-generated content. Quiyo does not enable authors to sell them, charge participants, or receive payments or payouts.
9. Payments and merchant-of-record processing
For eligible web purchases, a merchant-of-record provider may act as the seller for the transaction and independently process identity, billing, tax, fraud, receipt, cancellation, and refund information. Quiyo receives the information needed to activate and manage your software entitlement, such as customer identifiers, transaction status, product, amount, currency, and subscription status. Purchases made through Apple or Google are handled by the relevant app store.
11. Data retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accounts and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, meet tax or legal obligations, and preserve backups. Retention periods vary by data type and context. Public content or information shared with other users may remain visible until removed, moderated, or deleted, and may persist temporarily in caches or backups.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, authentication, encrypted connections, monitoring, and provider security measures. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials, keep devices updated, and contact us promptly if you suspect misuse.
13. International processing
Quiyo and its providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use contractual, organisational, or legal safeguards intended to protect transferred information.
14. Your privacy choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of personal information; withdraw consent; opt out of certain communications; or complain to a data-protection authority. You may update some information in your account or contact us at support@quiyo.app. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law permits or requires it.
15. Account and content deletion
You may use available account controls or contact support to request deletion. Deleting an account does not necessarily cancel a subscription handled by Paddle, Apple, Google, or another provider; cancel through the billing channel separately. We may retain transaction, security, dispute, backup, or legal records as permitted by law.
16. Children and younger users
Quiyo may be used in learning, family, or event settings, but it is not intended for a child to create an account or provide personal information where local law requires parental, guardian, school, or institutional authorisation and that authorisation has not been obtained. Adults and organisations responsible for younger users should configure quizzes to collect only information that is necessary and lawful.
17. Third-party links and embedded media
Quiyo may link to or embed services such as app stores, payment pages, videos, or public source links. Those third parties control their own privacy practices. Review their notices before providing information.
18. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, providers, or Quiyo features. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice where required or where a change is material.
19. Contact
